In short
Executive summary- Every lead is exclusive: once you buy it, no other business on VeryBookedAI receives the customer’s contact details.
- An offer stays open for 2 hours when it arrives during business hours and 12 hours otherwise. The first business to buy it gets it.
- Contact the customer within 24 hours of your business time, or the lead is returned automatically with a full credit.
- You can ask to return a lead within 14 days for a defect, never because you did not win the job. Approved returns are credited to your wallet.
- You may use a customer’s details only to respond to their request.
1Scope
These terms form part of your agreement with us together with the Terms of Service and the Wallet Terms. If these terms and the Terms of Service differ on how leads are bought, returned or used, these terms apply.
You buy leads for your business, not as a consumer. The person accepting these terms confirms they are authorised to bind the business.
2Words we use
- Request
- A job a customer describes through VeryBookedAI, with their contact details.
- Lead
- A request offered to, or bought by, a business.
- Cell
- A trade and an area your business has chosen to receive offers for.
- Offer
- The summary of a request shown to matching businesses before anyone buys it.
- Return
- Your request to have a bought lead credited back because it is defective.
3Who can buy leads
To receive offers, your business must:
- have a business account and a claimed profile whose phone number you have verified;
- be a real, trading business in the trade and area of each cell you choose;
- hold every licence, registration and insurance the law requires for the work you quote for;
- keep its profile, opening hours and contact details accurate.
We may pause offers to a business while we check its details.
4How offers work
When a request matches one of your cells, you receive an offer. It shows the trade, the town or postal district, a description of the job, when it was posted, whether it came from our directory, an advert or a local website, and the price. The customer’s name and contact details are not shown until you buy.
The same offer goes to every eligible business in the cell at the same time; the offer shows how many businesses received it. The first business to buy the lead gets it, and the offer closes for everyone else.
An offer stays open for 2 hours when the request arrives during business hours in the area of the job, and for 12 hours when it arrives outside them. An offer nobody buys in time expires.
5Buying a lead
The price of each lead is set for its cell and shown on the offer before you buy. Buying takes the price from your prepaid wallet, as set out in the Wallet Terms. Price changes apply only to offers made after the change.
If your balance is too low, you can top up the shortfall and buy. The offer stays open to other businesses while you pay; it is not reserved for you.
Once you buy, you receive the customer’s contact details and the full source of the request, and no other business on VeryBookedAI receives them. VAT or other sales tax is charged where it applies and shown on your invoice.
6Contacting the customer
Customers are told to expect contact. You must make first contact within 24 hours of your business time, counted during the opening hours on your profile (or the standard business hours for your country if you have not set any). Calls, texts and emails made through VeryBookedAI record the contact automatically.
If no contact has been logged by the deadline, the lead is returned automatically: your wallet is credited in full, you lose access to the lead, and it may be offered to another business.
7Returning a lead
You can ask to return a lead within 14 days of buying it, from the lead in your dashboard. A lead qualifies for return when:
- the phone number or email address is invalid or disconnected;
- the job is outside the area of the cell you bought it in;
- the job is for a different trade;
- it duplicates a request from the same customer for the same cell within 30 days;
- it is spam or a competitor testing the service;
- the person is not authorised to hire, for example a minor, a job seeker, someone selling to you or an occupier without authority for the work;
- the customer cannot be reached after repeated call and message attempts logged through VeryBookedAI over several days, and the customer then confirms they have not been reached or does not reply when we check with them.
What does not qualify
A lead is refundable for a defect, never for an outcome. These reasons do not qualify:
- you didn’t win the job;
- the customer chose another business;
- the customer changed their mind;
- the customer was comparing prices.
Decisions and credits
Returns that can be checked automatically, such as a disconnected number, are decided at once. We decide the others within 2 business days, and we may ask for your call and message records. An approved return is credited to your wallet, never to your card; the credit rules, including how long return credit lasts (12 months), are in the Wallet Terms.
8What happens to returned leads
A lead returned for a defect such as invalid contact details, spam or a person not authorised to hire is withdrawn. A lead in the wrong area or trade is corrected and offered in the right cell at its full price. A lead returned because the contact deadline passed is offered again at its full price.
A lead whose customer could not be reached and did not answer our check may be offered once more at a reduced price, clearly marked as a second chance. You will always see that mark before you buy.
9Fair use of returns
We watch return rates to keep returns fair for every business. If more than 30% of the leads your business bought in the last 90 days are returned, we review every further return by hand, ask for evidence, and may limit how many leads your business can buy.
10Using customer data
When you buy a lead, you receive personal data and become responsible for it under data protection law as an independent controller. You must:
- use the customer’s details only to respond to their request and to carry out any work they agree to;
- not sell, share or add the details to a marketing list, and not contact the customer about anything else without their consent;
- keep the details secure and delete them when you no longer need them;
- respond to the customer’s requests about their data as the law requires.
11Your conduct
Quote honestly, turn up when you say you will, and treat customers fairly. Do not write or buy reviews, offer rewards for positive reviews, or ask only satisfied customers to review you. We may pause offers or close the account of a business that misleads customers or breaks these rules.
12Pausing and closing
You can pause offers or change your cells at any time from your dashboard. You can close your account at any time; what happens to your balance is set out in the Wallet Terms. Leads you have already bought remain subject to these terms.
Liability, changes to these terms and the law that applies are covered by the Terms of Service. These terms are written in English; where we provide a translation, the English version prevails if the two differ.
